Building on his earlier research Lawrence Edwards examines the influence of celestial motion on the form of plants, embryos, and the heart. His statistical analysis of bud shapes, begun in the 1960s, leads him to suggest that all living forms are affected by patterns in time as well as space, with all of life and nature passing through vast cycles of change. He proposes that there are universal laws, not yet fully understood, which guide an organism's growth into predetermined patterns. He gives a detailed account of a complex phenomena which has hitherto not been observed or described. Edward's pioneering work into bud shapes has already attracted the attention of many scientists around the world and the implications of his work may lead to a revision of our current scientific worldview. Though written for the lay reader the book includes an appendix of his research and data.
